NBC has officially canceled its sophomore drama Found after two seasons. The series, which stars Shanola Hampton as public relations expert Gabi Mosely, will air its final episode on May 15 — now serving as the series finale.

Sources confirm that the show’s lead studio, Warner Bros. Television, may explore shopping the series to other platforms, though no deals are currently in place.

Found premiered in fall 2023 and quickly made a splash, becoming NBC’s top streaming launch at the time, with its first episodes drawing over 10.5 million viewers across platforms in their debut week.

The drama benefited from a strong lead-in from The Voice and launched during the dual Hollywood strikes, when broadcast networks were struggling to fill schedules with scripted content.

Season 2, however, saw a noticeable ratings dip, with the show undergoing a significant shift in narrative direction after the character Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) escaped in the Season 1 finale. This evolution in story, coupled with year-to-year viewership declines, contributed to the cancellation decision.

The move also comes as NBC retools its primetime schedule to make room for 180 hours of NBA coverage in 2024–25 — a result of the network’s landmark $2.5 billion annual deal with the league. Found joins a list of other recently axed NBC shows including The Irrational, Suits LA, Night Court, and Lopez vs. Lopez.

Created by Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Found centers on a team that searches for overlooked missing persons, particularly people of color. The cast also includes Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi.

Carroll served as showrunner and executive producer alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lindsay Dunn, and Sonay Hoffman.
