Filming has officially wrapped for DC’s upcoming movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Director and DC Studios co-head James Gunn confirmed the news in a reply to a fan on Threads, responding simply: “Yes it has.”

Production for the film began in January 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and other locations in the UK. Gunn had previously told fans in February that the movie was halfway through filming. Scenes were also shot in Scotland and Iceland.

Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, in the lead role. Her character has a darker past than Clark Kent, having grown up on a dying part of Krypton, which gives her a more hardened and jaded outlook.

The film is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. While full plot details remain under wraps, it is known that Kara will travel across space with Superman’s dog, Krypto, and meet a young girl seeking justice.

Jason Momoa appears in a cameo as Lobo, a new role for him in the rebooted DC Universe. Actor David Krumholtz also plays Zor-El, Supergirl’s father.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is part of the first chapter of the new DC Universe titled “Gods and Monsters.” It is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026. The chapter’s first film, Superman, is due out this July.
