Sony has officially confirmed that its next flagship, the Xperia 1 VII, will launch on May 13, a couple of days earlier than previously rumored.
The announcement event will be streamed live at 11 AM Japan time, which translates to 4 AM CEST, 3 AM in London, and 7:30 AM in India.
Rumors suggest the Xperia 1 VII will keep its 6.5-inch display, but the design may see slight changes — becoming shorter, wider, and thicker than its predecessor.
Internally, the phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, along with 12GB of RAM and Android 15 out of the box.
However, don’t expect to grab one globally just yet. While Japan is rumored to get the device on launch day, international availability may be delayed until July — though, with the reveal date itself arriving sooner than expected, that timeline could change too.
Stay tuned for the full reveal — Sony will livestream the event on YouTube and it’s expected to provide in-depth details about the camera capabilities, battery life, and possible pricing.
