Apple is preparing to release iOS 18.5, the next iPhone update focused on small changes and improvements. Here’s what’s coming and when to expect it.
Expected Release Date
Apple has already released three beta versions of iOS 18.5. Based on past release patterns, the final version is expected in mid-May, likely in the third week.
What’s New in iOS 18.5
The update doesn’t bring big new features but improves everyday use, especially in the Mail app:
Toggle Contact Photos Easily: You can now turn off contact photos in Mail directly from the app, without going into Settings.
All Mail Tab Now Visible: The previously hidden “All Mail” view is now a fifth tab, making it easier to access alongside other categories like Primary and Promotions.
AppleCare Info Easier to Find: Warranty details are now more prominent in your iPhone’s Settings.
What’s Next?
After iOS 18.5, Apple is expected to release iOS 18.6 as another minor update. But the big news is iOS 19, which will be unveiled at WWDC on June 9. Developer testing for iOS 19 will begin that day.
