YouTube Music has added a new feature that lets users share song lyrics. This brings the app closer to Apple Music and Spotify, which already offer this feature.
The new update allows users to pick lines from a song and share them as a card. Users can also change the background color and preview how the card will look. The card shows the lyrics, the song title, artist name, album art, and a small YouTube Music logo.
Once ready, users can share the lyrics on apps like Instagram or save the image to their phone. This makes it easy to show favorite song lines on social media.
The feature is currently rolling out to Android users. Some people with version 8.15.51 of the app have already seen it, but it may take a while to reach everyone. It is being updated from Google’s servers, so users don’t need to install anything new.
YouTube Music has been working to catch up with other music apps. This new lyrics-sharing option is a small but fun step forward.
