Rumors have been swirling online about tension between Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively during the promotion of their new movie Another Simple Favor. However, the film’s director, Paul Feig, has once again stepped in to set the record straight.
The speculation started after a Twitter post claimed that Kendrick was unhappy with Lively and did not want to work with her again. The tweet suggested that Lively was hesitant to walk the red carpet at the South by Southwest (SXSW) premiere because of their alleged dispute.
Feig quickly responded, shutting down the claim. He directly addressed the tweet, stating, “Um… you’re wrong,” making it clear that the rumored conflict was false.
This is not the first time Feig has had to defend Lively or the movie. Earlier this year, he dismissed claims that Another Simple Favor was shelved indefinitely. He also responded to online negativity surrounding Lively’s ongoing legal battle with It Ends with Us director Justin Baldoni.
Despite the rumors, Another Simple Favor premiered at SXSW and is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on May 1. Lively has expressed excitement about reprising her role, calling it her favorite character she has ever played.
As the movie’s release date approaches, Feig’s response makes one thing clear—there is no bad blood between Kendrick and Lively.
