Fans of Playboi Carti have been waiting for years to hear “I AM MUSIC” album, and now, the rapper has confirmed that it is finally complete. He shared the news on his Instagram Story, writing, “ME N WHEEZY TALKING ABOUT SOME OL OTHER SH*TT.”
This message came after he posted a screenshot of a text from producer Wheezy, who mentioned sampling Jay-Z’s “Girls, Girls, Girls” for the project.
Despite this update, many fans are still unsure if the album will ever be released. Over the years, Carti has built a reputation for delaying projects, making some listeners skeptical. “Still never dropping,” one fan wrote on social media, while another said, “I’m calling cap.”
DJ Akademiks recently revealed that even Carti’s record label, Opium, is unsure about the album’s release. During a live stream, he shared that he contacted the label for an update, but they had no clear answers. “They don’t know what the f*ck Carti’s doing, man,” Akademiks said.
However, the rapper’s unpredictable approach has only increased his hype. Akademiks suggested that even if Carti released a weak album, his influence over the culture is so strong that fans would still embrace it.
The wait might not be much longer. If “I AM MUSIC” doesn’t drop by March 12, Opium must refund fans who pre-ordered the album. Whether Playboi Carti finally delivers or not, the anticipation continues to build.
