Lil Baby has sparked debate after revealing his top five Atlanta rappers during an appearance on the DeepCut podcast.
The rapper, known for hits like WHAM, surprised fans by ranking himself last on his own list.
“I’m not sure how to rank myself,” Lil Baby admitted. He then shared his list:
- Future
- Young Thug
- 21 Savage
- Playboi Carti
- Lil Baby (himself)
The ranking quickly ignited discussions online, with fans questioning whether Future deserved the number-one spot over Young Thug, who played a key role in Lil Baby’s rise to fame.
Some also argued that legendary Atlanta groups like Migos and OutKast should have been included.
Another major talking point was the absence of Gunna from the list. Lil Baby and Gunna were once close collaborators, but their relationship reportedly changed after Gunna’s alleged involvement in the YSL legal case.
Addressing the situation on A Safe Place podcast, Lil Baby said, “It comes down to what we rap about. We can’t rap about that if you did that.”
His decision to crown Future as the top Atlanta rapper may also hint at an upcoming project. In a recent interview, Lil Baby revealed that he and Future had nearly completed a joint album before Young Thug’s return shifted plans.
“We almost had the tape done, but when Thug came home, he shut it down,” he told Spotify in January.
As the debate over his rankings continues, fans eagerly await what’s next from Lil Baby and his Atlanta peers.
