Marvel fans can rejoice as Moon Knight is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, the beloved character, played by Oscar Isaac, is unlikely to return in a second season of the hit series.
Marvel Television’s direction has shifted since “Moon Knight” premiered in 2022, casting doubt on the continuation of the show as originally planned.
In an exclusive interview with ComicBook, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum confirmed that Moon Knight will have a future in the MCU, though not necessarily in another TV season.
Winderbaum explained that Marvel Television is focusing on shows that can exist as annual releases, similar to traditional television formats. While he expressed a desire for a second season, he assured fans that there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.
Moon Knight has already made a return since the first season, with Oscar Isaac voicing the character in an episode of the third season of Marvel’s “What If…?” on Disney+. However, this appearance did not tie into the main MCU storyline, leaving fans eager for a more significant return.
While the exact timing of Moon Knight’s next appearance is unknown, Winderbaum’s comments offer hope for the character’s future. With projects like “Avengers: Secret Wars” on the horizon, there are endless possibilities for Moon Knight’s involvement in upcoming MCU adventures.
