Jay-Z and Diddy Lawsuit Dropped: Rapper Slams False Accusations

A lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual assault has been dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. The lawsuit was filed by a Jane Doe, but court documents confirmed the case is now closed.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, reacted strongly after the dismissal. He called the allegations “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling,” saying the case had no merit from the start. He also criticized the legal system, arguing that false accusations should have consequences.

“This 1-800 lawyer files a suit hiding behind Jane Doe, and when they realize the money grab is failing, they walk away with no repercussions,” Jay-Z said. “The system has failed.”

His attorney, Alex Spiro, praised Jay-Z for standing firm against the lawsuit. “Jay pushed back, never settled, and cleared his name. This case should never have been filed,” Spiro stated.

Diddy’s legal team also responded, saying this was just one of many false claims that would not stand in court.

The lawsuit originally alleged that Jay-Z and Diddy assaulted a minor at an MTV VMAs after-party in 2000. However, Jay-Z quickly moved to dismiss the case and challenged the accuser’s right to remain anonymous.

With the lawsuit now dismissed, Jay-Z emphasized that the legal system must protect real victims while also preventing false accusations. He stated, “May the truth prevail for all victims and those falsely accused equally.”
