Drake’s ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar has taken a personal turn, with LeBron James caught in the middle.
During a stop on his “Anita Max Win” tour in Perth, Australia, Drake subtly changed the lyrics to his 2018 hit “Nonstop.” The line “How I go from 6 to 23 like I’m LeBron?” was altered to “How I go from 6 to 23 but not LeBron, man.”
While the change might seem small, it carries heavy implications amid Drake’s rivalry with Kendrick. The tension between Drake and LeBron started when the Lakers star publicly supported Kendrick Lamar at his concert in June.
LeBron’s continued backing of Kendrick, who is locked in a lyrical battle with Drake, led to Drake unfollowing the NBA icon on social media. This act has signaled a potential rift in their once-close relationship.
Additionally, Drake has seemed to distance himself from other NBA figures, including Raptors legend DeMar DeRozan, who also attended Kendrick’s concert.
His recent comments on the Raptors potentially retiring DeRozan’s No. 10 jersey suggest that the tension extends beyond just LeBron.
Drake has also made waves with his recent legal battle against Universal Music Group and continued jabs at LeBron, including his “Fighting Irish” freestyle.
Despite these public gestures, neither Drake nor LeBron has directly addressed their strained relationship, leaving fans to speculate on what’s next.
