Drake made waves recently by altering the lyrics in his hit song “Knife Talk” during a tour stop in Melbourne, Australia.
In response to Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl this past Sunday, Drake changed the line “Beef is live, spoiler alert, this n—a dies” to “Beef is live, spoiler alert — I never died.”
The change seems to signify that Drake is not backing down from his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar and is asserting that he’s still very much in the game.
A Tease for New Music
Alongside the lyric change, Drake also teased new music in the works. During the same performance, he revealed that he’s preparing to release a joint album with PartyNextDoor, titled $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, set to drop this Friday, February 14th—just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The teaser also included a preview of a track from the upcoming project, “Crying in Chanel.” The tracklist has yet to be revealed, but fans are eager to hear more.
Solo Projects on the Horizon
Drake also hinted at working on a solo album. While addressing the crowd, he mentioned, “Eventually, when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all,” leaving fans excited for his next solo venture. The artist seems to have more creative output in store, promising more music to look forward to.
It’s clear Drake is staying active in the music scene, and with his upcoming collaborations and solo work, his fans are in for a treat. Keep an eye out for $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, dropping this week!
