Hailee Steinfeld, actress and Buffalo Bills quarterback fiancé, is making an important statement during Super Bowl LIX with a commercial that raises awareness for breast health.
In the “Your Attention Please” campaign by Novartis, Steinfeld challenges the societal fixation on women’s bodies and redirects it toward a more meaningful cause: early detection of breast cancer.
The Oscar-nominated star appears on the red carpet in the commercial, where she boldly declares, “Let’s give breasts the attention they deserve most.” For Steinfeld, this means encouraging women to start monitoring their breast health earlier to catch potential issues before they become serious.
She emphasizes the importance of early screenings, especially since 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will face breast cancer. Though guidelines recommend starting mammograms at age 40, Steinfeld urges younger women to be proactive with self-exams and stay informed about any genetic risks that could require earlier screening.
“I’m learning the importance of doing it sooner rather than later,” Steinfeld shares, explaining how screening at a young age can have life-saving implications. She is hopeful that the cheeky yet meaningful ad will inspire young women to take control of their breast health and start a conversation with their loved ones and doctors.
Steinfeld’s own health journey includes regular check-ins, and she encourages others to embrace wellness routines tailored to their changing needs. “I love a good workout,” she says, noting the mental health benefits of staying active.
By sharing her experience, Steinfeld hopes to spark an important dialogue among young women, encouraging them to prioritize their health, mental well-being, and breast health in particular.
