Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE, expected to launch this spring, may come with a big price rise. The new fourth-generation iPhone SE could see its price jump from $429 to nearly $500, according to reports.
This iPhone SE will be different from its predecessors. It won’t just update the design of older models. Instead, it will have a fresh look, possibly inspired by the iPhone 14.
This new design will include features like Face ID, Apple Intelligence, and the first OLED screen in an iPhone SE. It will also offer a larger size, making it less pocket-friendly than previous versions.
The phone will be powered by the latest A18 processor and include an advanced camera system. With these improvements, the price hike seems likely.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that Apple’s price could increase to around $500, which could be a surprise for many. Although the iPhone SE is known for being affordable, it now comes with new technology that may make the higher price justifiable.
Gurman also points out that while the higher price may limit its appeal in some markets, like India, the new features will likely attract people looking to upgrade from older iPhones. However, some may wish Apple offered a more budget-friendly option for wider market reach.
