Despite six nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift left the ceremony without a win.

The 35-year-old pop star was up for several categories, but on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, she didn’t take home any trophies.

Swift lost Best Music Video to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and Best Pop Vocal Album to Sabrina Carpenter for her album Short n’ Sweet. When Carpenter won, Swift cheered her on from the audience.

Both Record of the Year and Song of the Year went to Kendrick Lamar. Swift was seen dancing to his song “Not Like Us” in the crowd.

The night ended with Beyoncé winning Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, marking her first win in the category. Swift celebrated with Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, in the crowd.

This year, Swift had six nominations:

  • Album of the Year for The Tortured Poets Department
  • Best Pop Vocal Album for The Tortured Poets Department
  • Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone
  • Best Music Video for “Fortnight”
  • Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Us.” with Gracie Abrams

Swift faced strong competition in each category. For Album of the Year, she competed against Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, and others. In the Best Pop Vocal Album category, she was up against Carpenter, Eilish, Ariana Grande, and others.

In Record of the Year, Swift’s “Fortnight” competed against songs like The Beatles’ “Now and Then,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

For Song of the Year, “Fortnight” faced off against “Birds of a Feather” by Eilish, “Good Luck, Babe!” by Roan, and others.

Swift’s Best Music Video nomination was for “Fortnight,” which went up against A$AP Rocky’s “Tailor Swif,” Eminem’s “Houdini,” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

Lastly, Swift’s “Us.” was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, but the award went to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars for their collaboration “Die With a Smile.”

Swift has won 14 Grammy Awards throughout her career, including four Album of the Year trophies. She is widely recognized for her contributions to music across genres.
