Producer Metro Boomin has nothing but praise for The Weeknd’s new album Hurry Up Tomorrow and the legendary contributions of Mike Dean.
Metro Boomin took to X to express his thoughts on the album, making it clear how much he loves it from beginning to end.
He started by reposting a fan who praised Mike Dean for his work, calling it a “Finals MVP performance” on the album. Metro responded with an enthusiastic “Facts!!!!!!” and tagged Dean for recognition.
After soaking in the album, Metro shared his own take: “Only this nigga Abel could drop album of the year in January lmao.” He followed up with more praise, saying, “Mike Dean sittin’ high on that all-time producer/composer list for sure.”
Released on January 31, Hurry Up Tomorrow is a powerful project that includes previously released tracks like “Dancing in the Flames”, “Timeless” (with Playboi Carti), and “São Paulo” (with Anitta).
The Weeknd had delayed the album by a week “out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County,” according to his announcement.
In an interview with Variety, The Weeknd hinted that Hurry Up Tomorrow could be the end of an era. He mentioned how the competition and constant success can feel like a “rat race” and shared that, at his peak, it might be time to exit gracefully. He said, “Don’t overstay at the party — you can end it now and live a happy life.”
The album marks the end of a trilogy that started with After Hours in 2020.
The Weeknd is also preparing for his 2025 stadium tour. Starting May 9 in Phoenix, he’ll be joined by Playboi Carti and Mike Dean for the After Hours Til Dawn Tour.
