Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been fined $11,255 by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct following an incident during the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills.

The Incident

With just two minutes left in the second quarter, after a Patrick Mahomes touchdown run, Kelce got into a verbal exchange with Bills safety Damar Hamlin and Cole Bishop.

When Buffalo defensive tackle Jordan Phillips came over to join the confrontation, a minor push occurred between him and Kelce.

The NFL deemed Kelce’s actions to be taunting, resulting in the fine. This marks the second fine for Kelce this season, following a $14,069 penalty earlier for his goalpost dunk celebration after breaking the Kansas City Chiefs receiving touchdowns record.

Other Fines in the Game

Kelce wasn’t the only player fined in the AFC Championship Game. Jordan Phillips was fined $6,722 for unnecessary roughness due to his use of the helmet in the same incident.

Meanwhile, Bills linebacker Matt Milano was hit with a $11,255 fine for a facemask penalty late in the fourth quarter.

Looking Ahead to the Super Bowl

Despite the fine, Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are focused on making history with a Super Bowl three-peat.

The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025 in New Orleans.

Will the Chiefs make history with a third straight win? We’ll find out soon!
