Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser has officially announced his first major game since leaving Rockstar.
His new company, Absurd Ventures, is expanding into gaming, animation, and storytelling, with Absurdaverse as its latest project.
According to a press release via VentureBeat, Absurdaverse will be a satirical universe debuting first as an animated series, followed by an action-comedy adventure game.
This game will be separate from Absurd Ventures’ previously announced open-world action-adventure game set in the A Better Paradise universe.
Absurd Ventures has confirmed that the first Absurdaverse stories (in animation form) will be released in 2025.
A teaser image featuring several characters has also been shared, giving a glimpse into the world Houser is building.
Dan Houser has recruited several former Rockstar Games developers, including Sam Houser, Aaron Garbut, and Leslie Benzies.
Absurd Ventures has also secured strategic investment from South Korean publisher Smilegate, strengthening its position in the industry.
Absurd Ventures promises to reveal more information later this year, including updates on Absurdaverse, A Better Paradise, and American Caper.
Fans eagerly awaiting Houser’s return to gaming will soon get their first look at his new vision beyond Rockstar Games.
