The design of the upcoming iPhone SE 4 has sparked debate among leakers, with conflicting reports on whether it will feature a notch or Apple’s Dynamic Island.
Leaker Evan Blass recently shared images suggesting the iPhone SE 4 might adopt the Dynamic Island, a design element introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models. Blass highlighted subtle visual details in the images, which he claims point to the newer design.
However, another leaker, Majin Bu, shared dummy models that indicate a notch instead. The dummy models show the selfie camera positioned on the left, consistent with the iPhone 14’s design, which uses a notch.
Majin Bu stated that while Apple considered a Dynamic Island version, it ultimately chose the notch.
The iPhone SE has historically been based on older iPhone designs, making it easy to distinguish from flagship models. This year’s iPhone SE is expected to adopt the iPhone 14’s overall look, marking a shift to a more modern design.
However, the single rear camera and choice of notch over Dynamic Island may help differentiate it from higher-end models.
Apple’s final decision will likely balance cost and product segmentation, ensuring the iPhone SE remains a budget-friendly option without cannibalizing sales of flagship devices.
