Samsung Launches One UI 7.0 with New Quick Settings, AI Tools, and More

Samsung has officially launched One UI 7.0, marking the arrival of its latest major OS upgrade.

Although the wait was longer than expected, the new version is packed with both graphical and functional improvements, all built on Android 15.

One of the first changes users will notice is a redesign of the home screen, with new app icons and updated system app logos and colors. These icons now appear more modern and streamlined compared to previous versions.

The quick settings panel has also undergone a major overhaul. By default, the quick panel now appears on the right, with notifications on the left.

The quick settings panel features larger buttons and allows users to rearrange or revert the layout, while the notifications panel is optimized to prioritize important alerts and live notifications, such as alarms and timers.

The overall user interface has been refined, with menu cards now featuring more rounded corners, enhancing visibility and offering a cleaner look compared to One UI 6.0.

Additionally, smoother animations and improved touch responsiveness are evident across all interactions, from app launches to UI transitions.

Widgets have received a complete redesign, offering new layouts for each system app, making them more customizable and visually appealing.

A standout feature in One UI 7.0 is the Now Bar, an extension of live notifications that appears on the lock screen. It provides real-time updates from certain apps as soon as the device is unlocked, keeping users informed instantly.

AI-powered writing tools are another key addition, helping users improve their writing tone, generate new content, and check existing text. Additionally, a call recording transcript feature has been introduced to extract text from recorded calls.

Availability: The One UI 7.0 update will first be available for the Galaxy S25 series, with the Galaxy S24 series receiving it via an over-the-air (OTA) update. The update will gradually roll out to other devices, although Samsung has yet to release a detailed roadmap for older models.

This update brings significant changes, enhancing the overall experience for Galaxy users, from UI improvements to new AI capabilities.
