‘Severance’ Season 2 Review: The Return to Lumon Is Worth the Wait

Apple TV+’s Severance has made a remarkable return with its second season, continuing the story of employees working at the mysterious Lumon Industries.

Season 2 expands on the philosophical questions raised in Season 1, particularly focusing on identity and freedom. The show remains as gripping as ever, blending suspense with deep character exploration.

The season picks up with Mark Scout (Adam Scott) still searching for his outie’s wife, while Helly Riggs (Britt Lower) embarks on her own journey of self-discovery.

Lower’s portrayal of both versions of Helly, especially her character as Helena Eagan, is a standout, adding emotional depth to her role.

Other characters, like Dylan George (Zach Cherry) and Irving Bailiff (John Turturro), also experience significant development.

Turturro’s performance shines as Irving grapples with his Innie’s emotional turmoil, while Dylan’s arc takes a more emotional turn, raising questions about the lives of severed people.

The return of Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman) adds even more intrigue as his character’s hidden layers are revealed. New characters, like Lorne (Gwendoline Christie), bring fresh mystery to the story, keeping fans guessing.

Meanwhile, Lumon Industries itself becomes even more complex, with the company’s connection to the town and its founder, Kier, deepening the show’s mythos.
