The next iteration of Apple’s budget iPhone, now reportedly called the iPhone 16E, is expected to launch by April 2025.

According to a leak from Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 16E will borrow heavily from the iPhone 14’s design and specs while introducing notable upgrades.

The iPhone 16E will feature a 6.06-inch FHD+ LTPS OLED display with a 60 Hz refresh rate and a notch housing Face ID, a first for the SE lineup.

It will also sport a flat metal frame, a single rear camera, water resistance, and the powerful Apple A18 chip, making it a significant upgrade over its predecessor.

Priced at a rumored $499, the iPhone 16E is set to become Apple’s most affordable iPhone.

While this is $70 more than the previous SE model, the enhancements—like the A18 chip, Face ID, and an OLED screen—justify the price bump.

Additionally, the iPhone 16E will reportedly include 8GB of RAM and support Apple Intelligence features.

With these upgrades, the iPhone 16E is positioned as a compelling alternative to the iPhone 14, offering longer software support and improved hardware at a similar price point.
