Apple’s New TV and HomePod Mini to Feature Key Upgrade

Apple is set to launch new models of Apple TV and HomePod mini this year, with one key feature in common: both devices will be equipped with Apple’s new combined Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip.

Wi-Fi 6E for Faster Speeds

The new chip supports Wi-Fi 6E, offering faster wireless speeds and reduced signal interference with compatible routers.

While the current Apple TV supports Wi-Fi 6, the upgrade to Wi-Fi 6E is expected. The HomePod mini, however, currently uses Wi-Fi 4, so it’s unclear if it will get the Wi-Fi 6E upgrade.

Performance and Pricing Upgrades

The next Apple TV is expected to feature a newer A-series chip for faster performance, possibly at a lower price point, with a starting price under $100. The current model starts at $129.

Potential Design Changes

While no major design changes are expected, Apple has considered adding a built-in camera for video calls via FaceTime, eliminating the need for an external device.

HomePod Mini Updates

The next HomePod mini could come with a newer “S” chip, improved sound, a newer Ultra Wideband chip, and new color options.

Additionally, Apple is rumored to be launching a new smart home hub with a display and speaker later this year.
