Could Robert Pattinson Join the DC Universe as Batman?

Matt Reeves has given an update on Robert Pattinson’s future as Batman in the DC Universe.

While initially, DC Studios’ James Gunn had stated Pattinson’s Batman wouldn’t be part of the shared universe, recent comments suggest a more open possibility.

Reeves, speaking with Josh Horowitz, explained that whether Pattinson’s Batman joins the DCU depends on whether it “makes sense” for the story. He’s focused on completing The Batman – Part II, with production set for 2025.

“It really comes down to whether or not it makes sense… My head is down now about getting The Batman – Part II shooting and to make it something really special. I don’t know, we’ll have to see where that goes.”

Reeves’ comments leave the possibility open for Pattinson’s Batman to appear in the DCU, especially after the introduction of Batman in Creature Commandos.

However, any crossover would depend on how it fits with both the Batman franchise and the DCU’s direction.

With The Batman – Part II delayed to 2027, Pattinson will be 41, which aligns better with the DCU’s vision of an older Batman.

Reeves’ comments suggest that while nothing is confirmed, the door remains open for Pattinson’s Batman in the DCU.
