Dell has announced a major rebranding, phasing out its iconic XPS, Inspiron, Latitude, Precision, and OptiPlex names.
Starting in 2025, Dell will simplify its product lineup with just three main categories: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max. These will be further divided into sub-tiers: Base, Plus, and Premium.
A New Era of Naming
The new naming structure leads to product names like Dell Plus 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor and Dell Pro Premium laptops.
The familiar XPS 13 will now be known as the Dell 13 Premium. While the XPS brand will be retired, existing products will continue under their current names until they are phased out.
The Shift from Identity
This move marks a significant shift in Dell’s branding strategy, opting for simpler and more generic labels that echo the naming conventions of companies like Apple.
Critics argue that the new names, such as Dell Pro Max Plus, lack the identity and meaning of the older XPS line, which was known for its premium quality.
