WWE’s Big Debut on Netflix: What to Expect

WWE Raw on Netflix

WWE’s flagship show Raw is making its debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025, as part of a groundbreaking 10-year, $5 billion partnership.

This marks a significant shift for both WWE and Netflix, as the streaming service steps into the world of live sports for the first time.

The deal includes streaming rights for WWE’s premium live events, such as WrestleMania and SummerSlam, in several international markets, though Peacock will retain U.S. rights until 2026.

This partnership is a major move for Netflix, which has previously ventured into live sports with events like the Mike Tyson–Jake Paul fight.

WWE’s scripted format aligns with Netflix’s sports strategy, focusing on the drama of sport rather than traditional sports broadcasting.

With an audience of over 280 million subscribers globally, Netflix is positioning itself to compete with rivals like Amazon and Peacock, which already have sports deals in place.

WWE is also ramping up its content for the premiere, including a special appearance by John Cena, marking the start of his retirement tour.

The deal, which includes an opt-out clause after five years, is expected to shape the future of sports streaming, and WWE is preparing for big investments to ensure the success of its Netflix presence.
