Snapdragon 8 Elite in Galaxy S25 Ultra Falls Short in Benchmarks

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra was recently spotted with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, featuring overclocked performance cores.

However, leaked benchmarks suggest the chipset’s performance might not meet expectations, raising questions about its optimization.

Benchmark Details

The Snapdragon 8 Elite in the Galaxy S25 Ultra features performance cores clocked at 4.47GHz, up from the standard 4.32GHz, and efficiency cores at 3.53GHz.

Despite these upgrades, the device failed to surpass the 10,000-point mark in Geekbench 6’s multi-core tests. This is disappointing compared to a reference design with the same chipset, which achieved higher scores.

RAM and Battery Details

The tested Galaxy S25 Ultra model featured 12GB of RAM, which is expected to become the standard for the Galaxy S25 lineup.

A 16GB RAM variant will reportedly be exclusive to the Ultra model. The device retains a 5,000mAh battery, suggesting Samsung is prioritizing endurance over raw benchmark performance.

While the benchmark scores are underwhelming, it’s worth noting that raw performance numbers aren’t the sole measure of a smartphone’s capabilities.
