Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra may not support offline tracking through Find My Device when powered off. Leaked information suggests this flagship phone could miss a key feature available on Google Pixel devices.

According to AndroidAuthority, the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s hardware includes a setting labeled ro.bluetooth.finder.supported=false, which indicates no support for Bluetooth-based offline tracking.

This contrasts with Google Pixel 8 and 9 phones, which use a special system to track the device even when it’s turned off.

Google’s system relies on Bluetooth and location data from nearby Android devices. This allows lost or stolen Pixel phones to be located more accurately.

Additionally, the system helps other Android users find their devices by securely sharing location data. Samsung will still offer SmartThings and Samsung Find, but these services stop working once the phone is powered off.

Other leaks about the Galaxy S25 series reveal exciting upgrades, such as a display with 3000 nits of peak brightness and faster UFS 4.0 memory chips. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 lineup on January 22, 2025, with the event likely held in San Jose.

Stay tuned for more updates as the official teaser could drop anytime in early 2025.
