Jennifer Lopez reportedly declined to pay Bruno Mars’ “ridiculous” $5 million fee to perform at her wedding to Alex Rodriguez.
The couple, who got engaged in March 2019, never tied the knot after splitting in 2021.
However, wedding planner Marcy Blum revealed on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast that Jennifer had considered hiring Bruno to perform but changed her mind after hearing his expensive price.
Blum shared that Jennifer was shocked when she learned that Bruno’s performance fee for the night was $5 million, which would only cover a 45-minute to one-hour set.
Jennifer, according to Blum, told her, “Don’t be ridiculous,” when she was informed of the cost.
Though Jennifer and Alex never married, she went on to marry Ben Affleck in July 2022. Bruno did not perform at their wedding either.
Interestingly, Bruno performed at another lavish wedding in 2021 for socialite Troy Brown.
Blum also offered advice for couples thinking of booking a famous performer for their wedding, recommending against hiring a major star for the first dance as it could steal attention from the couple.
