While iOS 19 isn’t expected to be officially announced until June 2025 at WWDC, several rumors about the upcoming update have already begun to surface. Here’s a look at the biggest iOS 19 rumors so far.
More ChatGPT-Like Siri
One of the most exciting features expected in iOS 19 is a revamped Siri powered by advanced large language models. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the update will make Siri much more conversational, resembling OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
This would allow the assistant to handle more sophisticated requests. While the new Siri is expected to be unveiled during WWDC 2025, it may not be available until spring 2026, possibly as part of an iOS 19.4 update.
Delayed Features
Some features that were originally planned for iOS 19 are now expected to be postponed until iOS 19.4, including the new Siri.
Gurman explained that the gradual rollout of Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.1 to 18.4 has delayed some of the iOS 19 development. This means certain features, which have yet to be specified, will not appear until later in 2026.
Compatible iPhones
According to iPhoneSoft.fr, iOS 19 will be compatible with any iPhone that can run iOS 18, meaning it will support the following models:
- iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
- iPhone XS, XS Max, XR
- iPhone SE (2nd generation or later)
This means that even older models like the iPhone XS from 2018 will still be supported, continuing Apple’s trend of not dropping support for older devices in its major updates.
Timing
The first iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 betas are expected to be released during WWDC 2025, with the final release likely coming in September 2025.
While these are just rumors, the anticipation for iOS 19 continues to build as we wait for more official announcements in the coming months.
