MrBeast, YouTube’s most-followed creator, has addressed allegations against his Amazon game show Beast Games.
The show, offering a record-breaking $5 million prize, has faced claims of misconduct, including unpaid wages, unsafe conditions, and emotional distress.
Behind-the-scenes footage recently shared by Colin and Samir shows MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, denying the allegations.
He dismissed reports of “broken bones” and “hush money” as false. Contestants in the footage echoed his stance, calling the claims exaggerated and praising their experiences on the show.
In August, a spokesperson for Donaldson acknowledged logistical challenges during filming, citing extreme weather and unforeseen issues.
They confirmed steps were being taken to improve future productions, including direct feedback from 97% of the 2,000 participants.
Donaldson previously teased the release of behind-the-scenes clips to counter the allegations but noted they could not be shared yet to avoid spoilers.
Despite the controversy, Beast Games premiered on Amazon to largely negative reviews.
Critics described it as “shallow” (IGN) and “undignified” (The Guardian), with The Telegraph branding it “charmless YouTube nonsense.”
