T-Mobile has opened beta registration for Starlink connectivity on iPhones, with testing set to begin in early 2025.

This development follows the 2022 partnership between T-Mobile and SpaceX, which aims to eliminate mobile deadzones by using Starlink satellites for coverage.

Over 300 Starlink satellites are now in orbit, providing coverage across 500,000 square miles where traditional cell towers cannot reach.

The beta will initially support text messaging, with voice and data services expected to be added later. This will allow users in remote areas to stay connected, even without nearby cell towers.

Eligibility for the beta is open to postpaid T-Mobile customers, businesses, and first responders. The best part is that users don’t need a premium plan to participate in the testing phase.

The full rollout of Starlink connectivity will take place after the beta, but T-Mobile has not provided a specific timeline for when it will be available to all users.
