ChatGPT Now Available on WhatsApp and Landline: How to Connect

OpenAI ChatGPT Voice

OpenAI is making ChatGPT more accessible than ever with a new way to interact: through WhatsApp and even a landline phone number.

On Day 10 of the 12 Days of OpenAI, the company introduced the ability to chat with ChatGPT via WhatsApp by texting 1-800-242-8478 or by calling the toll-free number 1-800-CHATGPT.

For WhatsApp users, the experience is similar to texting a regular chatbot. While you won’t have access to every feature, such as online searches or image analysis, you can still ask ChatGPT a variety of questions and get responses based on the free tier of the service.

If you prefer voice interaction, you can call 1-800-CHATGPT, where a friendly, human-like voice will provide real-time answers to your queries.

The voice experience mirrors ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, offering help with translations, recommendations, or just casual conversation.

There are some limitations to keep in mind. WhatsApp users will have a daily message limit, though OpenAI hasn’t disclosed the exact number. For phone calls, users are allotted 15 minutes per month for verbal interactions. Currently, the phone service is only available in the U.S.

This move highlights OpenAI’s push to integrate AI into more communication channels, offering more accessibility for users worldwide.
