Tecno is expanding its AI-powered Universal Tone technology to better represent the diverse skin tones of the Middle East.

Unveiled in 2023, the technology aims to authentically capture the “full spectrum of humanity’s diversity,” with a focus on emerging markets, where the company has already seen significant success.

As part of its efforts, Tecno is conducting research on Saudi Arabian consumers and plans to extend this study to other countries in the region.

The goal is to analyze and understand a broad range of skin tones unique to Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Tecno is also refining its image processing algorithms to cater specifically to the characteristics of Middle Eastern skin tones, further solidifying its commitment to diversity and inclusion in smartphone imaging.
