Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus will not receive IP69 certification for its global release, unlike its Chinese variant.
Instead, the international model will be certified with IP68, indicating reduced resistance to high-pressure and hot water jets.
This marks a notable downgrade in durability for users outside China.
Despite this, the device boasts other flagship features, including Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, a large AMOLED display, and an advanced camera setup.
It is set to debut in China on December 9, 2024, alongside the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. The global rollout is expected in early 2025.
For buyers seeking cutting-edge water resistance, the Chinese model remains the better option.
However, the international variant still offers impressive specifications for its price segment.
