Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch its in-house 3nm chipset next year, aiming to compete in the high-performance silicon market.

The chipset is said to be paired with MediaTek’s unreleased T90 5G modem, promising impressive wireless speeds and efficiency.

A Weibo user known for accurate semiconductor predictions revealed this information, suggesting Xiaomi’s move to reduce reliance on Qualcomm.

MediaTek’s T90 modem appears to be an advanced iteration, potentially leveraging TSMC’s 3nm process for enhanced performance.

While details about the foundry partner and official specifications remain unclear, this development highlights Xiaomi’s ambition to strengthen its technological independence.

However, challenges like U.S. trade restrictions and sourcing 5G modems from overseas suppliers could pose risks.

Stay tuned for more updates as Xiaomi works to bring its cutting-edge chipset to market.
