Do GTA 5’s Power Lines Actually Go Anywhere?

YouTuber Any Austin, known for exploring game details like Skyrim’s rivers, has focused on GTA 5’s power lines.

His latest video follows transmission towers across Los Santos, revealing surprising insights about the game’s electrical grid.

Austin finds that while some power lines connect to substations or utility poles, others lead nowhere. A substation on the city’s outskirts links to poles and towers, but inconsistencies remain, which Austin describes as “charming.”

Civil engineer Grady Hillhouse reviewed the substations in the game, noting they’re visually convincing but technically inaccurate.

Still, GTA 5 impresses with realistic details, like utility poles connecting to buildings better than in GTA 4.

Austin’s video highlights the effort involved in creating immersive worlds, even when the details don’t always make sense. Watch it on YouTube for the full journey!
