Huawei Sets Goal To Publish 100,000 Apps for Harmony OS

Huawei, a Chinese tech company, wants to add many more apps to its Harmony operating system. The company aims to have 100,000 apps within one year.

Right now, Harmony has 15,000 apps. These apps cover basic needs, but Huawei says users need more special and personal apps.

Huawei made Harmony five years ago when U.S. rules stopped it from using Google’s Android system. The company had to create its own system to keep selling phones.

Huawei Chairman Xu Zhijun says the company must work harder to make Harmony better. He wants government offices and companies to use Harmony at work. He also asks users to be patient while the system grows.

“No way back leads to victory,” Xu said at a meeting. He promises Huawei will keep investing in Harmony to make it succeed.

The U.S. banned Huawei in 2019, saying the company’s equipment might not be safe. Huawei says these worries are wrong. The company now focuses on making its own technology instead of using American systems.
