The 2024 MAMA Awards, one of K-pop’s most anticipated year-end events, will feature performances from global stars ROSÉ and Bruno Mars, CJ ENM announced on Thursday.
The two artists are set to take the stage at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on Friday, following the immense success of their collaboration, “APT.”
Released on October 18, the song peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and continues to dominate the charts, holding the top spot on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Global 200 for four consecutive weeks.
ROSÉ, known for her role in BLACKPINK, has had a standout year, with her solo career reaching new heights. Her debut album, rosie, is due for release on December 6. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars, a Grammy-winning pop sensation, has been a favorite in Korea, drawing huge crowds with hits like “Just the Way You Are” and “Uptown Funk.”
The MAMA Awards will begin Friday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with the first chapter in Japan kicking off at 4 p.m. KST. The main ceremony will follow on Saturday.
This year’s growing global presence in K-pop continues, with more international stars joining events like the upcoming 2024 Melon Music Awards, featuring Danish singer Christopher and Japanese pop group YOASOBI.
