Samsung’s new Galaxy A56 5G has appeared on China’s 3C certification website. The listing shows the phone will support 45W charging, faster than its predecessor’s 25W charging.
The phone carries the model number SM-A5660. Users will need to buy a separate 45W charger to use the faster charging feature.
The Galaxy A56 5G will use an Exynos 1580 chip. Tests show it performs better than the previous model. It scored 1341 in single-core and 3836 in multi-core tests on Geekbench.
The phone will keep the same rear cameras as the A55: a 50MP main camera, a 12MP camera, and a 5MP camera. The front camera will be upgraded to 12MP.
Samsung plans to release this phone in 2025, after the Galaxy S25 launch. The previous model, Galaxy A55, launched at Rs 39,999 in March 2024.
The upgrade to 45W charging brings the A56 closer to Samsung’s top phones. However, real-world charging speed improvements may vary.
