  • Hallmark Moves to Its Own Service, Leaving Peacock Subscribers Frustrated

Hallmark Moves to Its Own Service, Leaving Peacock Subscribers Frustrated

Peacock just lost a major chunk of its content, and subscribers are already feeling the impact. The streaming service, which offers a wide range of TV shows and movies from NBC, USA, and other networks, just experienced a significant downgrade after Hallmark ended its two-year partnership with the platform.

Starting May 1st, Hallmark content is no longer available on Peacock. This includes both Hallmark’s live channel and the exclusive streaming window for its newly released movies. Fans of Hallmark’s annual holiday events, like the Countdown to Christmas marathon, will now have to turn to Hallmark+ to get their fix.

Hallmark’s decision to leave Peacock comes after the network launched its own standalone service, Hallmark+, last year. According to a statement from Hallmark, “Hallmark and Peacock have enjoyed a successful partnership since 2022. However, as Hallmark has since launched its own standalone streaming service, we made the decision to sunset Hallmark programming on Peacock.”

While Peacock is losing a key partnership, Hallmark+ is now the exclusive home for all of Hallmark’s new movies, TV shows, and their back catalog of originals. The streaming service, however, doesn’t offer the live feed of the Hallmark Channel the way Peacock did, which may be a dealbreaker for some fans.

Peacock users are left wondering what this means for their subscriptions, especially during the holiday season when Hallmark’s programming has been a big draw. If you’re a fan of Hallmark, you may now need to sign up for Hallmark+ to keep up with all the content that used to be available on Peacock.

  • Diddy Sues for $100 Million Over Defamation in ‘The Making of a Bad Boy’ Documentary

Diddy Sues for $100 Million Over Defamation in ‘The Making of a Bad Boy’ Documentary

Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal, Peacock TV, and Ample Entertainment.

The lawsuit claims that these companies published false and malicious statements about him in the documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, which aired on Peacock on January 14.

The lawsuit, filed in New York, accuses the media companies of making reckless and unfounded claims, including accusations of serial murder and sex trafficking. These claims were based on statements from sources such as Al B. Sure, Rodney Jones, and attorney Ariel Mitchell, among others.

The documentary explores several controversial aspects of Combs’ career, including his alleged involvement in the deaths of former girlfriend Kimberly Porter, Biggie Smalls, Andre Harrell, and Heavy D. It also mentions the attempted murder of Al B. Sure.

Combs’ attorney, Erica Wolff, condemned the documentary in a statement. She accused the media companies of prioritizing profits over truth and professionalism.

“They made a conscious decision to line their own pockets at the expense of truth,” Wolff said, adding that the companies spread outrageous lies without any evidence to support the claims.

The lawsuit also criticizes Ample Entertainment’s co-founder, Ari Mark, for admitting that the documentary was rushed to compete with other projects on the same subject. Mark reportedly stated that there was no time for thorough research.

Diddy is seeking $100 million in damages for the harm caused to his reputation and career by the false claims.

Diddy Documentary on Peacock Set to Expose Dark Secrets

Peacock is about to shake up the entertainment world with the premiere of “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy,” a documentary that promises to take an unflinching look at the life and controversies of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Set to air on January 14, 2025, the documentary delves into the darker side of Diddy’s career, addressing serious allegations and legal battles that have followed him for years.

    Explosive Allegations Under the Spotlight

This documentary isn’t your typical celebrity biography. It tackles accusations of sexual misconduct, abuse of power, and more, shining a light on the allegations that have cast a shadow over Diddy’s empire. It’s the first major project to be released since his legal troubles intensified.

    Who’s Speaking Out?

The film features interviews with people close to Diddy, including a childhood friend, a former bodyguard, and New Jack Swing pioneer Al B. Sure!. Al B. Sure! has been vocal about calling for a reinvestigation into the mysterious death of Kim Porter, Diddy’s ex-partner and mother of his children.

    A Career in the Crosshairs

The documentary doesn’t hold back in addressing Diddy’s ongoing legal issues, including charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. With multiple lawsuits and mounting allegations, the film could shift public opinion and change how Diddy’s legacy is viewed.

    A Must-Watch Event

“Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy” isn’t just about fame and fortune—it’s a story of power, privilege, and accountability. As Hollywood faces increasing demands for transparency, this documentary could set the tone for how Diddy’s controversial legacy is remembered.

Don’t miss it when it premieres on January 14, 2025.

  • Eddie Redmayne Confirms Return for The Day of the Jackal Season 2

Eddie Redmayne Confirms Return for The Day of the Jackal Season 2

Eddie Redmayne has confirmed that he will reprise his role as the enigmatic mercenary, the Jackal, for The Day of the Jackal Season 2.

The series, which was renewed last month, is a Sky and Peacock adaptation of the 1972 novel and 1973 film, where Redmayne’s character is pursued across Europe in a tense cat-and-mouse chase.

In a video message on Instagram, Redmayne teased fans, saying, “If there’s one thing that the Jackal can’t stand, it’s a loose end. So we will see you soon for Season 2.”

The first season defied expectations with its unexpected finale, leaving plenty of room for more of Redmayne’s character.

Show producer Gareth Neame admitted he was initially reluctant to reboot the property but ultimately embraced the opportunity for business reasons.

Director Brian Kirk shared that the decision to alter the story’s outcome was part of the show’s vision from the start, adding that the character’s popularity justified the renewal for a second season.

Samsung Galaxy Store Partners with Netflix and Peacock for Exclusive Freebies

Samsung smartphone owners have a reason to celebrate as the company teams up with Peacock and Netflix to offer exclusive perks through the Galaxy Store.

These partnerships bring exciting benefits for users, enhancing the value of their Samsung devices.

    Three Months of Free Peacock

For those who have been eyeing a subscription to Peacock, Samsung is offering a three-month free trial through the Galaxy Store.

This perk is a great opportunity for users to explore the streaming service, especially if they are interested in sports and entertainment content. Peacock offers exclusive access to popular leagues such as IMSA, NASCAR, and WWE, making it an attractive option for sports fans.

The free trial provides a chance to experience all that Peacock has to offer without the immediate financial commitment.

Exclusive Squid Game Season 2 Clip for Netflix Users

In addition to the Peacock offer, Samsung has something special for Netflix subscribers, particularly fans of the hit series Squid Game. From December 19 to 26, users who open the Galaxy Store will gain access to an exclusive clip from Squid Game’s second season.

This exciting preview comes just ahead of the season’s release on December 26, allowing fans a sneak peek into the highly anticipated continuation of the series. This exclusive content is available only through the Galaxy Store, making it a unique benefit for Samsung users.

    Why These Perks Matter

In a time when streaming services have become more expensive, Samsung’s collaboration with Peacock and Netflix provides valuable incentives for its customers. While the Galaxy Store is not as widely used as Google Play, these partnerships make it a more appealing platform.

For Samsung users, these exclusive offers help to add value to their device purchases, making the investment in a high-end smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra feel a bit more worthwhile.

The free trials and exclusive content offer a small but welcome bonus, especially as streaming costs continue to rise.

  • Comcast Screensaver: Peacock, Netflix & Apple TV+ Bundle at Low Price

Comcast Screensaver: Peacock, Netflix & Apple TV+ Bundle at Low Price

Comcast is launching a new streaming bundle called ScreenSaver that includes Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ at a much lower combined price. This comes shortly after the big news that Max, Disney+, and Hulu are joining together for their own streaming bundle later this year.

The president of Comcast, Brian Roberts, revealed details about the ScreenSaver bundle on Tuesday at a media conference in New York. He said the bundle will be available to all Comcast customers with broadband internet, TV, or mobile service plans.

While Comcast did not provide exact pricing yet, Roberts said the ScreenSaver bundle will offer all three streaming services at a “vastly reduced price” compared to subscribing to each one individually. More pricing information is expected when the bundle officially launches later this month.

This is different from the upcoming Max/Disney+/Hulu bundle, which will be available to anyone regardless of which company provides their internet or TV service. That bundle aims to allow each streaming service to focus on its strengths rather than competing directly against each other.

By bundling popular streaming services together at a discounted rate, both Comcast and the Max/Disney/Hulu partnership are looking to provide more value and convenience for viewers. As more streaming options continue to emerge, companies are finding ways to join forces and simplify choices for consumers.

The new ScreenSaver and Max/Disney/Hulu bundles represent a broader trend of streaming services looking to partner up rather than directly compete. An upcoming sports streaming service from several major media companies is another example of this “contraction” taking place in the streaming world.
